More Information About Waiting List
Why do you want to be on our waiting list
1. We do not over-breed our precious queens: ONE breeding per year ONLY (unless there are some exceptional circumstances that require that)
We usually schedule breeding depending on demand for kittens and the queen's condition and readiness to breed. That means that the sooner you get placed on the waiting list, the sooner kittens may be available.
2. Often, by the time the kittens are born, most or all of them have been already reserved. Keeping your high position on the waiting list ensures that you don't miss your chance of choice for particular color, gender and quality. Show and breeding quality in particular need to be reserved in advance.
3. By being placed on the waiting list after you paid your deposit you guarantee the lowest price possible for your animal even if only the highest/most expensive quality is available at that time.

Can anyone be placed on a waiting list by paying a deposit
Unfortunately, no. Buying/selling an animal is a two-way commitment. It is important for the buyer to remember that adopting an animal is a big responsibility and long-term commitment for potentially 15 to 20 years. You need to be sure that you are ready for that and willing to accept substantial costs associated with responsible animal husbandry.
On the other hand, we need to be certain that you are a right adoptive family for our animals because their well-being is extremely important to us. So, before we commit to the client, we conduct an interview with the family and ask to fill out Adoption Questionnaire that help both sides clarify their positions. Some clients can be rejected during the application or any time during the process if we deem them inappropriate to care for our animals.

Why pay deposit in advance?
All reputable breeders charge a non-refundable deposit before allowing clients to select their animal in order to ensure that the buyer is serious. If a breeder reserves a kitten for a particular client without a deposit and the client either backs out at the last minute or does not pick up a pet on time, both breeder and the pet suffer greatly.
Our deposit allows a client to reserve kitten from one of three subsequent litters (i.e., different breeding pairs). See next for more info.

How does the waiting list work?
1. In most cases, we assign the right of choice to those clients who reserved their placement the earliest (i.e., on the "first deposit" basis). However, the availability of a particular animal and your declared desires at the time of placing the deposit play a significant role in the choice. The more particular you are about the gender and color of a kitten, the longer may your potential wait be because the nature is unpredictable and not always kittens are born according to our plans.
2. Breeders always have priority and the first choice. The second choice is reserved for people who want to have a show animal. Showmanship is always encouraged!
3. Our clients on the waiting list who did not find a desired animal in the most current litter will continue to reserve the right to select a kitten from two additional subsequent litters. After that, the deposit becomes null and void as a compensation for the breeder and non-refundable to the client. So please be sure that you are SERIOUS and READY for adoption. If timing is not right for you (i.e., you are expected to move soon), you can, and will be wise to specify when do you expect/desire to get a kitten. In this case you won't lose your priority while your 3 litters will not be counted until that time arrives.

What is my position on the waiting list and how long will I have to wait?
I am always asked this question and, unfortunately, I cannot answer it exactly. I know that it can be very unnerving not to know when you will get your kitten but the reality is that I don't really know. Although I have litters regularly, there are always changes in the waiting list and it all depends.
Sometimes the first client on the list is the last to get what they want and the last arriving gets it first! The order of the selection is determined based on the criteria outlined in the Adoption Process Rules and many other parameters. Some of them are in 2 specific categories:
1. Client-dependent
Step 1. When the litter has been born and I know the colors and genders, I email the number of people corresponding to the number of kittens according to the priorities above. They will tell me if they are interested to reserve the kitten/s from this litter or not. If somebody is not interested and wants to defer to the next liter, I email in person the next person until the potential litter list is compiled.
The step 2 of the process is when the litter is vaccinated and health-checked at 8-9 weeks, - then we schedule allergy tests. And if somebody falls off the list, another person is added to it.
But, meanwhile, you are not kept in dark and I post kittens' pictures and videos - at a minimum once a week. So you always know and see how they grow, play and develop.

1. Client-dependent
- How specific you are about color and gender of the kitten or a particular pair of parents?
- How does your preferred timing correspond to availability of the kittens? - Some people have family emergencies, moves , surgeries or vacations right at the time their litter is going home and it becomes problematic or inconvenient.
- How well did you do on your allergy test (if applicable)? Did you have any reaction?
- How many kittens are born in each litter? Sometimes it is only one and at other times 8 - I had both.
- What are the genders of the kittens? - Sometimes it is the whole litter of only males or females when the majority of people wait for the opposite.

How do I get on the waiting list?
The current kitten price for 2023-24 is $2,200 including a non-refundable deposit of $200 for a typical "pet" kitten. Pick Of the Litter (POL) kittens are $2,200 with $400 deposit. In addition, requests for some pairs of parents may require additional payments or may require longer waiting times. Some kittens or litters may be priced differently. For instance, Polly, Sylvie and Flora's litters at the present time are qualified as a show quality and priced at a POL price. All adult cats for rehoming are priced individually.

And what about allergy to cats?
Before making a commitment to sell a kitten, we work with clients whose problem with cat allergy is known or suspected to ensure that they find a compatible animal. We also encourage clients who suspect potential allergic reaction to cats to perform a skin test with the immunologist to make sure that it is indeed the cats they are allergic to.
Potential clients with allergies are encouraged to seek an in-person test by visiting with volunteer-owners of Siberian cats (may require a payment for such visits). Contact the breeder to confirm if you do require such test - we could assist you if necessary.
