So, you have decided about the breed and found your favourite cattery. Now what?
You need to decide about the Sex and One or More - or, maybe a kitten and another cat or a dog/puppy.
And what about a baby/toddler/child or children?
What are the pros and cons of each decision? If more than one pet (or if you already have a "resident-pet" at home) -
How to introduce them properly?..

So, let's talk about MULTI-pet home first
One or Two?
Here, instead of telling you HOW much animals benefit from having a companion animal at home (that is NOT shy of sniffing each other's butt, rolling together on the floor and chasing each other madly around the house until both pant and drop almost dead, heavily drooling and happily curling up together on the dirty rag - activities not ALL humans will appreciate, I will just introduce you to my communication with some of my "cat parents" who wanted their new babies to be happy but had their own reservations prior to bringing them home. 1. Two kittens from the same litter - a testimonial from a happy client
Hello Galina,
...yes I was very concerned about how affectionate they would be with me BUT once again you were right!!!
We have QUICKLY developed 3 separate and wonderful relationships: One between Odin and me; another between Elsa and me, and yet another one between the 3 of us. I would never have guessed getting 2 kittens would be SO rewarding. Elsa is my very mushy girl and comes for loving very often. Odin is my on demand lover (he's male what can I say) and quite pushy getting to me for cuddles. The 3 of us have daily grooming session together and play session together. They also have a relationship between the two of them. So when they can't see each other, they call to each other to come play. It's nice to see them playing, hunting and exploring together. An added benefit also is that if you leave the house for even a whole day, they are not lonely!
So, I am SO SO happy that I decided to get two! No question about it. Not only did I get SO MUCH MORE kitty love but I truly believe it allows them as felines to keep more of their true self intact. I know that we will have many happy years together. My only slight concern is the play fighting, it can be at times almost violent. Sometimes Odin gets to rough with her and she takes cover under something so he can't get her. Shortly after she comes out and the play resumes.
In conclusion, to anyone who wants their heart filled with more cat love then they ever imagined! Then 2 is the way to go.
Regards,
Angelica

Important to keep in mind:
When you bring home a kitten, please follow instructions outlined in the Getting Your Kitten Home.
Only when the kitten has fully adjusted to its "closed quarters" of a small room and ready to start wandering around, should you attempt to make an introduction to the resident animal.
