My personal opinion as a breeder, mother and grandmother is that there is absolutely NO better cat for a child than a Siberian! They are gentle and endlessly patient with the little ones and adore them.

Check out my page on FUN-imals called Ada and Kittens. On it my granddaughter Ada is having her first experience playing with 6-8 week-old kittens at 1 1/2 years old. For as long as she could express herself, she has been my Crazy Cat Baby-Lady and wanted nothing more than to be around kittens. But, to my amazement, even with her poorly controlled handling of them, the kittens were extremely patient and ran back to her as soon as she was putting them down.

Since then, I have experienced and heard from numerous of my clients whose kids were either born in the home with a Siberian or grew up with them learning the value and benefits of a life with a loving pet, such as generosity of spirit, trust and respect, being gentle and caring with others..
